'Strip it Back'
Plain packaging, Central Saint Martins 2018
Influenced by the design approach towards cigarette packaging in the U.K, I wondered how the 'ugly' effect could work to discourage consumers from purchasing plastic packaged products, when non-plastic alternatives are widely available. My approach was to strip back any excitement from the packaging of some plastic food / drink items. Perhaps the lack of an enticing colour and bold typefaces could change the way we view plastic flooded products?
